From Barista to Coffee Maestro

The Brand

New York Sweets, being on its 30th birthday stepping stone, is actively promoting the Art of Enjoyment as a way to experience life and its tastes to the fullest. It’s “New Experience” manifesto reinvents the way we relate to pastries and celebrates them as an expression of love toward ourselves and others.

The Project

Within our recently, completely reformed salon on Nikis Avenue, Lefkosia, we have reserved a small, yet formidable space for the “The Coffee Garden.”

We seek a Barista willing to step up as Coffee Maestro in bringing out the most pleasure in coffee drinking and people meeting.

The Person & The Role

The first step of the exceptional experience to be provided by the successful Coffee Maestro is the welcome and education of our valued customers, by presenting and explaining the Premium Coffee drinks’ menu. The successful Coffee Maestro would be responsible for the preparation of coffee drinks by following recipes and preparation techniques as they were tried and tested by top coffee experts. They also need to manage the delivery of coffee and special creations in a professional and timely manner, inventories maintenance, keeping equipment operating by following operating instructions and maintaining safe and healthy work environment.

Continuous learning is key to success. The responsibilities of the successful Coffee Maestro include continuous improvement of quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of coffee bar and updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; studying coffee and food service publications and maintaining personal networks. The promotion of new and expanded services and products is part of the Coffee Maestro responsibilities.

Education & Experience

2+ Years proven success in a Coffee Maestro role as described above.

Recent experience in the premium coffee industry and/or foodservice or hospitality industry is highly preferred.

Excellent Greek and English speaking skills.
